Dans ma maison il y a... un petit roi
Here is my project for Dans ma maison li y a... I recently found and scanned this image from a cabinet card that I bought a long time ago when I used to go antique shopping with my parents. I loved the thought of a little future king being oblivious to the fact that he was royalty and playing with his toes instead of posing for his picture!
Projects with Beau Monde stamps
Oxford Impressions has a BEAUTIFUL set of stamps - Le Beau Monde- and I played with them this weekend to create these collages. I liked using the flourishes to frame the images.
For this one and the following one I stamped on copper flashing with StazOn and embossed the flourish part of the image for added dimension.
The final one is distress ink over a Tim Holtz mask on an ATC sized piece of Stampbord. The oval behind her head is created with four of one of the flower accent stamps.

Art Creations Friday Challenge
I love this week's image from Art Creations Friday! I thought with "misunderstood" on his hat there had to be more to him so I placed him on a collage of blue print paper and an image of Einstein's field equation notebooks where he worked out his theory of general relativity. Thanks for a great picture!

Wednesday Stamper - Transfer
This is my project for the transfer challenge at Wednesday stamper. I used a tape transfer with a clipping from a catalog. I think transfers are a really cool addition to a project, but find that I can only reliably do the packing tape type - guess I need to keep playing with others! My music stamp is from Stampabilities and the alphabet stamp is from Purple Onion Designs.
Created Byhand Challenge - flowers
This is my Created Byhand project for this week. I used an ATC sized piece of Stampbord and covered it with alcohol ink. I love the look of the flowers done this way - so impressionistic! My flourish stamps are from Basic Grey and the alphabet stamps are from Purple Onion Designs.

Saturday's Workout
The Saturday Workout challenge was to sew an ATC, so I sewed paper to an acetate base stamped with a flourish from Quietfire Designs. My image is from Paper Whimsy.
Art Creations Friday challenge
This is my 4 x 4 with this week's Art Creation Friday background. I cut strips from it, wove it with strips from an old french text paper and sewed it to a piece of silvery paper. The stamp is my favorite swirl from Stampington.
Created Byhand Challenge
This is my window complete with a bird outside for this week's Created Byhand challenge. The bird stamp is from I Brake for Stamps, the swirl stamp on the acetate window is from Stampington, and the window sill stamped ornaments are from Technique Tuesday.

Theme Thursday Challenge - flowers
This is a skinny for the Theme Thursday challenge. I like the look of old botanical prints so I used a stamp from Oxford Impressions on a collage background piece from Digital Collage Sheets. I also recently acquired a rubber stamp version of the Americratika font that I just love from Purple Onion Designs that I used to add the word flowers.
Art Creations Friday Challenge
This is my collage for Art Creations Friday. I'm still playing with gesso resist for the background, just tried a different combination of distress inks - I think it was actually FIVE. I thought she looked very far away and wistful, thinking of something else.

Created Byhand Challenge - blue and green
Here is my project for this week's Created ByHand challenge. I read about gesso resist techniques in Somerset Apprentice and tried it on a piece of french text and used blue and green distress inks over top. The image is from Digital Collage Sheets.

Art Creations Friday challenge
This is my collage for Art Creations Friday. I stamped around the picture with my favorite build-a-frame stamp set from Prima and colored in the floral parts with distress ink. I added a Paris postmark from Oxford Impressions to accentuate the faint one on the photo. My favorite part is the lace sprayed with glimmer mist. (Wish my photo showed that part better!)
Dans ma maison il y a...une femme
Here's my house for Dans ma maison il y a... - this week's challenge being une femme. My version is a working woman - elle qui travaille (I hope my french expresses my idea properly!). I thought about someone locking up their house to go off to work being a slave to time. Stamp credits: Melissa Frances and Inkastamps.
Theme Thursday Challenge - eggs, nests, birds
Here's my project for this weeks Theme Thursday Challenge. My bird stamps are from Crafty Individuals.

I've been working on Design Team projects recently using the new Marie Antoinette stamps from Oxford Impressions. This is a triptych using a variety of the sheet's stamps.

Saturday Workout Challenge
I have been wanting to participate in Saturday's Workout especially when they feature a technique. This faux leather background with masking tape pieces, ink and embossing powder was fun. I made another with different colors and tried different types of clear embossing powder. I don't think it shows on the photo, but a more granular powder like this one almost looked like water droplets, while a finer powder looked more uniform - I liked them both and I guess I'll have to make another project with my other background. Did anybody try UTEE? How did that work? My collage sheet images are from Digital Collage Sheets and Paper Whimsy and I added a rub-on from Bo Bunny.
Theme Thursday Challenge - nautical
Here's my project for Theme Thursday.
I initially used a transparency scrap of a sailboat layered over a stamped piece of background paper and made it into an ATC sized piece. I then mounted it on a peeled paper background piece. Stamp credit: Sugar Lump Studios.
