In honor of the upcoming 4th of July holiday here is a red, white and blue postcard for Sunday Postcard Art. I wanted something that gave a "fireworks" feel and thought the flourish stamp achieved that - what do you think? Stamps credits: Crafty Individuals, Oxford Impressions, and Technique Tuesday.
This is a project for this week's Saturday's Workout - matchboxes. This is a mini accordion book with 2 matchboxes for drawers. I hope the succession of photos gives you an idea of how it all opens - very hard to photograph a dimensional, interactive piece! These are really fun to make - I even did a variation as a Christmas gift and put Hershey's chocolate miniatures in the drawers.
This is the image for this week's Art Creations Friday challenge. I experimented with it digitally before printing and used one of the French Laundry Photo Edges by Sande Krieger as an overlay and then printed it on a transparency and overlayed that on top of a vintage ledger scrap. The background is more water stamping experiments using a stamp from Hero Arts. The stamped flourish is from Autumn Leaves.
Hope I'm not too late with this challenge at Created Byhand - great theme this week - work always seems to interfere with the early in the week challenges - ugh!!!! Anyways, the theme is "french" and I've had this stamp from Old Town Crafts for quite a while and wanted to try it on vintage text paper - en français, bien sûr!! The other fun thing about this piece is a water stamping technique on the pinky-red paper. You can see Jennifer McGuire's video about it here.

This is an ATC for Saturday's Workout. I love the embossing powder resist technique and have been playing with it a lot recently. (Previous posts on my blog show some other ideas - cards and a fold up circle book - you can check those out, too!) I used a background stamp from B-Line Designs and the look is more subtle than with a bolder stamp, but I think proportional for an ATC sized piece. I used distress inks over the clear embossing powder - love all the color variations you can achieve with distress inks and water! Image: Artful Illusions, Rub-on: Delish Designs.

This week at Art Creations Friday there was a great grungy background to be used. I created a hanger and used a Prima Hybrid alphabet letter printed on a transparency layered over the background. The piece is wired to another piece of corrugated cardboard to complete the overall grungy look.
I absolutely love flourishes so I wasn't going to miss this Theme Thursday Challenge. My background uses a Stampers Anonymous flourish stamp, and the other flourish is a printed and cut out version from a Paperbag Studios digital element. The Prima flower just seemed to fit!
This is my collaged Father's Day Card for this week's Created Byhand Challenge. I always find it challenging to do a masculine themed project - I think my stuff generally looks "girly". The collaged images in this piece are from Collage Visions; border stamp from Autumn Leaves.

Here's a vintage bathing beauty postcard for Sunday Postcard Art. I used a bunch of miscellaneous scraps for this collage and quite a variety of stamps as well - The Queen's Dresser Drawers, Basic Grey, Technique Tuesday, Alpha Stamps, and Stampington. Fun challenge this week!!
I hope I'm not too late for this week's Tag Challenge - we've had such a nice stretch of weather that I've been weeding all the flower beds and have had to delay my creative time - but no longer! ( and I have happy cats that are back to stealing my paper scraps!! - ahhh...all is right with the world) This tag collage uses vintage ticket scraps, a postcard from French Kissed and a vintage photo from Designer Digitals. The stamped frame on the bottom is from Fontworks.

Soldered Art is the challenge at Saturday's Workout, and this is a piece using a couple of sizes of glass and a bottlecap in a hanging collage. It was interesting adding the jewelery findings; tack-soldering those jump rings is a challenge in itself!!!
